Shattered, broken,
In pieces on my knees
Dirty, filthy,
With the denial of my needs
My voice lost!
My voice drowned!
My voice tossed away,
There is no sound!
                  (sound)
                   (sound)

Shattered, burning,
From a fire deep within
Hotter, and hotter,
I have burned for all my sins
My voice ignored!
And with my voice I'm bored!
I don't want to speak anymore!
I forget what I was speaking for...

Shattered, betrayed,
Into my soul I fall
I close, behind me,
The doors to my hallowed hall
My voice is silent!
My voice is in chains!
All my thoughts arrested,
Only a hint of memory remains!
                                   (remains)
                                    (remains)

Shattered, but whole!
I refuse to let go!
I know one day I will rise again,
And I refuse to give in!
To the things that haunt me...
Shattered, I stare,
And my reflection it glares,
In defiance!
To myself, I will be true,
I will be reliant!
I know in my heart,
The past no longer matters!
I stare at myself in this mirror,
Because like who I was,
It is shattered

Who thought this piece would end the way it did?

Three pieces, a poetic narrative of who I was, my anger, my fear, my hope, my redemption, and who I am.
This journey began with "Breaking My Sanity", a child's cry for release, it continued with "Waiting For You to Fall", a teenagers cry for vengeance, and ends with "Shattered", the adults understanding that he and he alone, no matter what has happened, is responsible for who he is, and what he does.
