My Eyes
Eyes are the window
Into the soul
So look into mine
But don't let go
Because if you do
Then you might fall
And never be able
To climb out at all
Look into my eyes
And see all that I have seen
Look deeper into them
And become a part of me
But don't let go
Cause if you do
You might never be able
To go home, I know it's true
Look into my eyes
And feel just what I feel
I leave all my emotions right up there
So you will know that they are real
But don't let go
Because if you do
You might be in to deep
For anyone to hear you
Look into my eyes
And feel...all my pain
Please hold on...to me
And help me stifle my screams

His Eyes
With each step, He drew closer to me,
Lurking in the corner, waiting patiently.
In the shadows, where He has no shape,
Devoid of any light, He is the darkness.
A rustle of wind here, a whisper there,
The night is bare, the moon is about,
Casting hiding places for Him as He moves,
Behind me, following my every step.
I knew He was behind me but I walked on,
Walked because there was no escaping Him,
But I made my mind and turned around,
Only to look upon Death, into His eyes.
The coldness in them was overpowering,
But to my surprise, I did not feel the cold at all,
Rather warmth put her arms behind me.

lucifer has kind eyes
blood ran like milk & honey in the promised land,
washing over your feet like rivers.
you thought to yourself, this is hell.
& you saw the demons getting drunk off of your sins,
smiles wide, laughter loud.
you'd always thought they'd have claws,
but you saw then that their hands are even softer than yours,
& much less bloody.
you realized, we do all the dirty work for them.
their cackles rung in your ears,
crackling through the air,
& you wondered what on earth you did to deserve this,
as if you weren't standing knee-deep in an ocean of all your crimes.

It's not as bad as it sounds,
. I got the idea a while ago from a picture of me() In my gallery, that I titled "Into My Soul". Sadly, this picture is slightly scary, and it's not really flattering to me either(
), but it WAS the origin for this new series. This is the link if you are feelin brave.

In a way, this will be like the "Rhythyms" series, in which I tried to explain why I write, and how all the parts of a song make me feel, and what it's like to be me. This series is me taking that whole line of thought further. Some of the songs will be light, some dark, some uplifting, but all these things are me.
