Literature Text
I am a lover,
A brother,
A father,
A fighter,
A winner, who has lost
I am full and complete,
Yet my life has been emptier than most
I am passion,
And a teacher,
In another life,
Possibly a preacher
I am anger,
And pain
I am sorrow,
And shame
I am sickness,
And health
My love is not,
For sale
I am hope,
I inspire
I am faith,
And also desire
I am focus,
And strength,
Yet I am also,
So very weak
I am a poet, a writer,
My greatest goal,
Is to lift my voice higher
I am a believer,
Though, once, also was I, a deceiver
I am justice,
And retribution
I am awareness,
And confusion
I am sad,
But also happy
I am romance,
Oh, so sappy
I am learning,
And yearning,
And a flame for all,
Always burning
I am polyamorous,
And I sing
I am vindication,
And clearly, my voice rings
I am joy,
And horror
I know that all time,
Is simply borrowed
I was a boy,
I am a man
Each day I rise,
Face the world, and stand
Yet none of these are important,
Not alone, no not at all,
None more so than the one,
That at the last falls
I am you, you are me,
Bound together, in equality
No matter what, for whatever reason,
I am a PERSON, I am HUMAN
And it is within us all, to be more

Literature
Who I am.
"You should be ashamed"
Why?
I am not sorry for I am.
I am not sorry for what or who I can never be.
I'm not made to please everyone around me.
I'm not the type to make c o n g a t i o u s smiles or fits of laughter.
Don't act or treat me like I am.
See me. Not for who I could be pretend be,
but for who I am on the inside of the shell.
I'm rough, brash, cocky, sophisticated.
[on the outside]
I'm okay, weird, misunderstood.
[on the outside]
But on the inside,
I am like a little girl wanting to play,
only hoping not get hurt by a treacherous smile.
Who I am is the girl who comes off far to strong,
in fear she will be forgotten.
Literature
I am not yours
I am not yours, though I would like to be:
I would like to be
(not eclipsed, assuredly,
only drowned in an
onrush of tidal structure)
yours,
in the least binding sense of the word.
I feel,
in a strange and self-defeating
sense,
that I could lose at least
part of myself in you:
but I can find in you
only a cadaver, ghastly and immaculate,
its sheet (provided,
thoughtfully, for modesty)
white as a wedding gown
and more pristine.
Literature
I am
I am everything and nothing;
I am -
The light within your sorrows
Your ray of hope.
Your living nightmare;
The darkness in your dreams.
I am -
The occasional disappointment;
The untrustworthy.
The temptress, biting your neck;
Handcuffs and high-heels.
I am what I choose to be.

This theme, it shows up throughout my work, over and over.
Most who know me also know that I dislike repeating myself, and that if I am, it is because what's being said is important.
This is the same reason this theme shows up in piece after piece.
No matter what we are, the things that we do, the things that somehow define us, it is WHO we are that is important.
We are each, all of us, people.
Human.
And we each should have the same rights, in all things, because though we are different, this very thing makes us the SAME.
Now imagine what we COULD be, as a PEOPLE, if we stopped this fighting over our differences, and embraced what makes us the same, our HUMANITY.
This should be the only thing that defines us.
And yet, we could be so much more, than just human.
But being JUST human, is more than enough.
