Did you really think,
That I would just forgive and forget?
It might have seemed like I did,
But I just hadn't paid you back yet
They say that revenge is not needed,
But I don't agree...
Sometimes people do things...
For which they deserve to bleed!
I can still remember,
Every time you lied
I bet you didn't know,
I could see the truth inside your eyes,
The truth inside your eyes
I can still remember,
All those blows to my pride
Did you really think,
That I was so blind,
That I was so blind?
I remember...
Everything!
I used to love the way,
You could woo me with words,
But as I look back now,
I realize that all of them hurt!
You felt this strange desire,
To live a double life,
And I find myself wondering...
How do you sleep at night?!
Because...
I can still remember,
Every time you lied
I bet you didn't know,
I could see the truth inside your eyes,
The truth inside your eyes
I can still remember,
All those blows to my pride,
Did you really think,
That I was so blind,
That I was so blind?
I remember...
Everything!
I remember...
The sound of your voice...
I remember...
That leaving was my choice...
I remember...
That it was me that turned away...
I remember...
That it was you who gave me
No reason to stay!
I can still remember,
Every time you lied!
I bet you didn't know,
I could see the truth inside your eyes,
The truth inside your eyes!
I can still remember,
All those blows to my pride,
Did you really think,
That I was so blind,
That I was so blind?!
I can still remember,
As I walked away,
The look of stricken horror,
That was all over your face,
All over your face...
I've had my revenge now,
So tell me baby, how does it taste?

if you loved me,
you'd love me broken, too.

remember.
i. remember -
how you were
alone
that day and how i
took the first step
and said
hello.
a. you told me that
sunsets are more beautiful
than sunrises
because
endings are always lovelier
than beginnings.
ii. remember -
the way you
twirl my hair,
hold my wrists,
kiss my heart.
b. you collect my tears.
you put them in a jar,
hide them under your bed.
you say that, this way,
you have my bad memories;
that they're not mine
anymore.
iii. remember -
how i asked if
you would ever
miss me.
how you said
no.
c. you were wrong.
our sunrise
was more beautiful
than our sunset.

Inebriating to Remember Love
I used to head down
to the pub on main.
We'd meet up; we'd watch
the game through
the snow on the screen.
Decipher lisped play-by-plays
and sometimes, decipher wrong.
As I swished the ale around
my sweating glass, he'd walk in.
5:22 p.m -- his late-at-night;
eyes half alive and his life, half dead.
A shuffled symphony,
while finding his never-usual seat.
Skyscrapers douse
his shoulders with doubt
as the news manages to cut in.
There, he'd order his usual;
whiskey, its warmth, a foil
to his lethargy.
Despite seeing him
on all the occasions of my visits,
I observe him;
each time he arrives,
in between football plays

It seems that the girl in the poem did what she had to do for her not necessarily revenge IMO.
