Electric Ride
The still of the night...
Is broken!
Harsh sounds on the air...
Are spoken!
And color reaches for the ground!
It flashes!
It crashes!
You can feel it everywhere!
It makes your nerves tingle,
It feels like it's burning the air!
It's Nature's own light show,
Just stand back,
And watch it glow!
(And watch it grow...)
Take the electric ride!
It's okay!
To be afraid,
Even as it takes,
Your breath away...
Sit back and enjoy the sight,
Take the electric ride!
It sends a thrill...
Deep into you!
Your skin feels the chill...
Feels black and blue!
As the air it's self is bruised!
It flashes!
It crashes!
You can feel it everywhere!
It makes your nerves tingle,
It feels like it's burning the air!
It's Nature's own light show,
Just stand back,
And watch it glow!
(And watch it grow...)
Take the electric ride!
It's okay!
To be afraid,
Even as it takes,
Your breath away...
Sit back and enjoy the sight,
Take the electric ride!
Feel...
Feel it sear...
Watch it rip...
Through the air..
It's coming closer...
So close, it feels like it's right there!
It's everywhere and you don't care!
It's Nature's own light show,
Just stand back,
And watch it glow!
(And watch it grow...)
Take the electric ride!
It's okay!
To be afraid,
Even as it takes,
Your breath away...
Sit back, enjoy the sight...
And take the electric ride!

Halfhearted
I gave you my whole heart,
and you returned it
in pieces.
So, I laid it out on the kitchen
table to glue back
together,
but the calico jumped up
and stole some before I
could catch her.
While I chased the cat, the dog
ate as many pieces as
he could reach,
apparently preferring the taste
of bleeding heart to
Alpo Chopped Beef.
By the time I gave up on the kitty
and sat back down to the job,
big chunks had disappeared,
making it that much harder, like
putting together a puzzle with missing
pieces and

How to move on:
1. Take a deep breath.
2. Take a moment to think of nothing but her; ignore the tears welling up in your eyes. Now think of her voice. Now think of the hurt. See? No more tears.
3. Let the anger take over until she's not the person you fell in love with. Really, you don't even know who she is anymore, and it can't hurt to lose someone you don't know.
4. Read your old poems without thinking abut her; listen to love songs without crying; flirt with someone new without comparing them to her.
5. Stop writing for her, stop writing to impress her, stop writing to tell her how you're too afraid to feel. She doesn't care anymore, you shouldn't ei

Have You Ever
Have you ever looked at the sky,
And searched for a shooting star,
In the middle of the day?
Have you ever put your head down,
And looked at the ground,
Searching,
For a lucky penny?
Have you ever made a wish,
On a bit of dandelion fluff,
And then watched it float away?
Have you ever closed your eyes,
And thought about,
Happy past times?
Have you ever dreamed of flying,
Only to wake up,
And realize,
You're still firmly on the ground.
Have you ever watched the rain from the window,
Fall to the ground,
And wish you could go outside and dance in it?
Have you ever counted your age,
On your fingers,
And wished you could turn
